Social and Sustainable Capital (SASC) has provided a loan of £2,475,000 to Bridge through its Social and Sustainable Housing Fund II (SASH II), to support people in Bradford facing challenges such as substance misuse, homelessness, mental health problems, and domestic violence.
Bridge is a place-based charity established in Bradford in 1983 by volunteers. Its mission is to empower individuals facing multiple complex barriers to achieve positive change.
The 25 SASH II-funded properties (21 x 1-bed flats, 2 x 2-beds, 1 x 3-bed and 1 x 4-bed) will allow the charity to deliver the supported accommodation requested by Bradford Council under a number of existing contracts (Housing First, TA for women, people with drug & alcohol problems, etc).
Provides services to people with complex life circumstances, including those experiencing substance misuse, homelessness, mental health challenges, and domestic violence.
The SASH II loan will support a wide variety of people across different impact areas.
The SASH II funding will provide 30 bedspaces of supported accommodation.
The SASH II-funded properties will help address the shortage of suitable accommodation for vulnerable people in Bradford, allow the organisation to expand its owned property portfolio, be less reliant on PRS and potentially achieve costs savings from existing leasing arrangements if they purchase properties from existing landlords.
The management team is experienced and the project well-planned.
